This site is the course blog for “The Concept of Power,” which is a humanities course taught at the Eastman School of Music in the spring semester of 2010.  In part, it contains information (links to readings, reading questiosn, and other logistical information) specific to the course.  However, it will also contain substantive postings by students and the professor regarding course content and how it relates to contemporary political issues.

As this page is open to the public, we welcome relevant and respectful comments and questions.  However, you do so as a  guest in our space.  Any comments that are racist, sexist, or homophobic will be immediately deleted, and I will be the sole arbiter of what counts as such.  I will also delete any comments that are personally defamatory to any of the posters or commenters here, or which seek to derail the discussion through one sort of provocation or another.  I will also give preference to students from the class who comment here; if there are comments–particularly from those not in the class–that I think are irrelevant or that do not contribute to a substantive discussion of the issue at hand, I may delete them.
